Fine & Performing Arts Collection

The Fine and Performing Arts Collection houses various print and non-print materials in art, design, music, and theatre. The collection is comprised of reference, reserve, periodicals and circulating materials including CDs, LPs, DVDs, Blu-rays and VHS.

Equipment and facilities are provided for listening to sound recordings, viewing DVDs, Blu-rays, and VHS, as well as public computers.

FPAC staff are responsible for

  • providing reference service in the areas of art, design, and music;
  • providing library instruction for library users; developing, maintaining and evaluating the art and music collection;
  • circulating materials housed in the Fine and Performing Arts Collection (e.g. LPs, CDs, DVDs, VHS, listening rooms, and headphones); providing an environment for listening to and viewing materials, and
  • maintaining course reserves for fine and performing arts classes.

Student employees also assist library users with collections, facilities and equipment, circulating fine and performing arts materials, basic reference assistance in art, design, theatre, and music, basic bibliographic searches for collection development purposes, and shelf-reading.

The FPAC help desk provides reference and research assistance to library visitors during the hours shown. Please note the reduced hours on the following interims and holidays:

Friday 9:00 am - 4:00 pm 8:00 am - 4:00 pm
Saturday Closed Closed
Sunday 2:00 pm - 11:00 pm Closed

During the hours that the FPAC Help Desk is not staffed, patrons may obtain reference assistance from the Information Desk on the second floor, and check out Fine and Performing Arts materials at the Circulation Desk. See the FPAC Interim Schedule.
