The Fine and Performing Arts Collection houses various print and non-print materials in art, design, music, and theatre. The collection contains in-house reference books, periodicals, and indexes. Circulating materials including CDs, LPs, Videos, headphones, playscripts, books, and scores can be checked out at the FPAC desk. Group listening rooms and remotes are checked out at the FPAC desk, as well.
Equipment and spaces are available for listening to sound recordings, viewing Blu-rays, DVDs, and VHS, as well as public computers.
FPAC staff are responsible for
- providing reference service in the areas of art, design, and music;
- providing library instruction; developing, maintaining and evaluating the art and music collection;
- circulating materials housed in the unit such as LPs, CDs, DVDs, Blu-rays, listening rooms, and headphones; providing an environment for listening to and viewing materials;
- and coordinating exhibits on the Learning Commons Exhibition Wall which is located on the 2nd floor, and other locations within the building.
Student employees assist library users with collections, facilities and equipment, check-in and check-out services, necessary reference assistance in art, design, theatre, and music, basic bibliographic searches for collection development purposes, and shelf maintenance.
