The Indexes & Abstracts Collection contains printed sources that list articles in journals, magazines, and newspapers. In OneSearch!, materials in the Indexes & Abstracts Collection are indicated with the location of UNI Index/Abstract. This collection is located on the first floor of the library, at the end of the Bound Periodicals area. The collection is non-circulating.
Important things to know: Indexes list articles alphabetically by author and/or subject. Some index sources provide brief summaries or abstracts of the articles listed. Most of the indexes and abstracts cover a specific subject area, but some are general or interdisciplinary. Many indexes and abstracts are also available in electronic form that can be accessed through the Databases A-Z link on the library website. Multiple databases grouped by subject area can be searched together using Panther Prowler.

- Reference materials do not circulate
The Reference Collection is located on the 2nd floor and is made up of a variety of information sources such as directories, dictionaries, encyclopedias, handbooks, biographical sources, statistical compilations, and legal materials. Reference materials are intended to be used within the Library and do not circulate.
The library is adding many online reference books and other material. These can be located through OneSearch!. The location in OneSearch! is UNI Internet, and the entry will contain a link to go directly to the item.
