This baton was apparently a gift from the women of the Cecilian Glee Club to their director, Elizabeth Burney Schmidt.
Professor Schmidt was a member of the Iowa State Teachers College music faculty from 1909-1911 and then from 1920 through 1932.
Director's baton. Ebony and sterling silver. About sixteen inches long. Inside lined case.
