With the cutting of many academic programs, including a massive financial cut to the Price Lab School, students and faculty alike organized to protest the “death” of these programs and facilities. The tombstones found in this collection are symbolic of these budget cuts, and were used as props to headline a “funeral” for these academic programs, which was held on UNI’s campus, primarily at Seerley Hall and next to the Campanile.
Scope and Content
This collections contains the tombstones, which are housed in custom-fitted boxes.
Due to the large size of these tombstones, they have been placed on the top of the shelving near the 17/00/05.
