Scope and Content
Thorson-Brom-Broshar-Snyder was a Waterloo architectural firm that was involved in the design of a number of buildings on the University of Northern Iowa campus, especially during the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s. That company later became InVision Architecture.
Among the most significant campus projects for Thorsen-Brom-Broshar-Snyder were the Education Center (now Schindler Education Center), the Library (now Rod Library), Maucker Union, the Music Building (now Russell Hall), the Science Building (now McCollum Science Hall), and the UNI-Dome.
In the summer of 2012, Hovey Brom, one of the principals of the firm, gave a collection of material associated with the work of his firm to the University of Northern Iowa Archives. This collection consists of photographic prints and slide transparencies that document the planning and construction of a number of campus buildings.
