Scope and Content
Iowa School Reports, 1918-1960 were issued biennially by the Superintendent of Public Instruction. Each report consists of two primary sections – a narrative and summary of statistics. The Department of Public Instruction consists of: State Board of Public Instruction, Department of Public Instruction, Administration, Division of Transportation, Division of Veterans’ Education, and Instruction. The summary of statistics section contains tables that detail enrollment and attendance, the number of schools, teaching positions, salaries, and amount and values of buildings in Iowa.
