Scope and Content

These papers consist of material accumulated and used by Morris Mikkelsen in the course of his work in the Facilities Planning Office of the University of Northern Iowa.  Box 1 consists of planning documents.  Boxes 2 and 3 are primarily oriented toward specific projects.  Files typically include schematic plans, programming plans, sketches, and photographs.

Mr. Mikkelsen was involved in every campus building and renovation project from his arrival on campus in 1983 through his retirement in 2014.  Consequently, these papers are a very strong resource for anyone interested in facilities planning, campus architecture, and institutional development during that period.  This collection includes documents that have guided planning at the University of Northern Iowa for almost fifty years.
