Access and Use: There are no restrictions on the use of this material. Note to researchers:  There was no overall order to this collection when it arrived in the University Archives.  Consequently, the processor of the records imposed his own order by placing similar material together.  Likewise, many folders lack clear organization.  Due to time constraints, the processor often simply transferred the contents of the original folders into archival folders without careful sorting.  Researchers should take the time to look at all folders relating to a particular topic. Scope and Content

This large series covers matters of great importance to the University of Northern Iowa:  for example, strategic planning, long-range planning, academic program review, accreditation, student outcomes assessment, and faculty productivity. 

This record series came to the University of Northern Iowa Archives in 2014 as a result of an exchange of Seerley Hall offices between the President and the Vice President and Provost.  Most of the records had been stored in those two offices, but some had been stored in the lower level of Gilchrist Hall.  The records included a substantial quantity of material from the Office of Academic Affairs.  The records were so thoroughly mixed when the arrived in the Archives that it did not seem appropriate, or even possible, to sort them into their respective offices.  Dates range from about 1972 to 2012, with the preponderance of material from the 1980s and 1990s.
