    • The commencement dinner party was held on Friday, May 23 at 6:30 PM in the Commons.
    • Baccalaureate services began on Sunday, May 25 at 10:30 AM.
    • Commencement was held on Tuesday, May 27 at 7:30 PM.

    • 37 degrees and diplomas were awarded in November, 1946.
    • 31 degrees and diplomas were awarded in March, 1947.

    • A reception was held on Sunday, August 17 at 7:00 PM in President Price's home.
    • The commencement dinner party was held on Wednesday, August 20 at 6:00 PM in the Commons.
    • Commencement began on Thursday, August 21 at 7:30 PM.

  • Speaker and Speech Title:  Kenneth Irving Brown, President of Denison University (Commencement Address) "What Date We Expect from Education Today?"  Dr. Albert Cook Outler, Yale University (Baccalaureate Address) "The Meaning of Loyalty"
  • Events:
    • The commencement dinner was held in the evening of Saturday, May 22 in the Commons.
    • Baccalaureate services were held on Sunday, May 23 in the Auditorium at 10:30 AM.
    • A reception for graduates held Sunday, May 16 at President Price's home.
    • The Women's League Tea, honoring women graduates, was held on April 28 in the Commons at 3:30 PM.
    • Commencement began on Tuesday, May 25 at 7:00 PM.
  • Highlights, Headlines, Firsts, and Honors:
    • 47 degrees and diplomas were awarded in November, 1947.
    • 37 degrees and diplomas were awarded in March, 1948.
    • 239 degrees and diplomas were awarded in May, 1948.
    • This year included the largest group of four-year graduates at this point in the history of the college.
    • "Club 48" was presented at the commencement dinner on Saturday.

    • The commencement dinner party was held on Saturday, August 14 at 6:30 PM in the Commons.
    • A performance by the College Band was held on Saturday, August 14 following the dinner on the Commons Terrace.
    • Baccalaureate services were held on Sunday, August 15 at 10:30 AM in the Auditorium.
    • Commencement began on Thursday, August 19 at 7:00 PM.

    • 191 students received degrees and diplomas.

 


1949

    • A reception was held on Sunday, May 15 at President Price's home at 7:00 PM.
    • A commencement dinner party was held on Saturday, May 21 at 6:30 PM in the Commons.
    • Baccalaureate services were held on Sunday, May 22 at 10:30 PM.
    • The alumni dinner was held Sunday, May 22 at 12:30 PM.
    • Commencement began on Monday, May 23 at 10:30 AM.
  • Highlights, Headlines, Firsts, and Honors:
    • Teresita and Emilio Osta provided the entertainment for the commencement dinner party
    • 58 degrees and diplomas were awarded in November, 1948.
    • 56 degrees and diplomas were awarded in February, 1949.
    • 270 degrees and diplomas were awarded in May, 1949.
    • No speaker was present for the commencement services.

    • Baccalaureate services were held on Sunday, August 14 at 10:30 AM in the Auditorium.
    • The President's reception was held at President Price's home at 7:00 PM on Sunday, August 14.
    • The commencement dinner was held on Wednesday, August 17 in the Commons at 7:30 PM.
    • Commencement services began on Thursday, August 18 at 7:00 PM.
  • Highlights, Headlines, Firsts, and Honors:
    • This year included the largest summer graduating class in the history of the college.
    • 312 students received degrees and diplomas.
    • No speaker was present for this commencement.

 


1950

    • Commencement dinner was held on Wednesday, May 17 at 6:30 PM.
    • Commencement was held on Saturday, May 20 at 10:00 AM.
    • The Alumni Luncheon was held on Saturday, May 20 at 12:30 PM.
  • Highlights, Headlines, Firsts, and Honors:
    • 80 degrees and diplomas were awarded in November, 1949.
    • 81 degrees and diplomas were awarded in February, 1950.
    • 353 degrees and diplomas were awarded in May, 1950.
    • This was the largest graduating class at this point in the history of the college.
    • No speaker was present for this commencement.

    • The commencement dinner party began on Tuesday, August 8 at 6:30 PM in the Commons.
    • Commencement began on Thursday, August 10 at 7:00 PM.
  • Highlights, Headlines, Firsts, and Honors:
    • 251 students received degrees and diplomas.
    • No speaker was present for this commencement.
    • This was the final graduation ceremony to be presided over by President Price.

 


1951

  • Events:
    • Baccalaureate services began on Sunday, May 27 at 10:30 AM.
    • The alumni reunion dinner was held on Sunday, May 27 at 12:30 PM in the Commons.
    • A reception for the graduates was held at President Maucker's home on Sunday, May 27 at 7:00 PM.
    • A commencement dinner for the two-year graduates was held on Thursday, May 31 at 6:30 PM in the Commons.
    • A commencement dinner for the four-year graduates held Friday, June 1 at 6:30 PM in the Commons.
    • Commencement was held on Saturday, June 2 at 9:30 AM.
  • Highlights, Headlines, Firsts, and Honors:
    • This was President Maucker's first time presiding over commencement exercises
    • 43 degrees and diplomas were awarded in December, 1950.
    • 65 degrees and diplomas were awarded in March, 1951.
    • 390 degrees and diplomas were awarded in June, 1951.

  • Events:
    • Baccalaureate services were held on Sunday, August 12 at 10:30 AM in the Auditorium.
    • Commencement dinner was held on Tuesday, August 15 at 6:30 PM in the Commons.
  • Highlights, Headlines, Firsts, and Honors:
    • Commencement was to be held in the football stadium due to the installation of a new basketball floor in the Men's Gymnasium, which would not be completed in  sufficient time.
    • 286 students received degrees and diplomas.

 


1952

    • Baccalaureate services were held on Sunday, June 1 at 10:30 AM in the Men's Gymnasium.
    • Alumni reunion luncheon held Sunday, June 1 in the Commons.
    • The student-faculty family picnic began at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, June 4 at the college golf course.
    • A reception was held at President Maucker's home on the evening of Friday, June 6.
    • Commencement began on Saturday, June 7 at 9:00 AM.
  • Highlights, Headlines, Firsts, and Honors:
    • 50 degrees and diplomas were awarded in December, 1951.
    • 58 degrees and diplomas were awarded in March, 1952.
    • 470 degrees and diplomas were awarded in May, 1952.

  • Events:
    • Baccalaureate services were held on Sunday, May 31 at 10:30 AM in the Men's Gymnasium.
    • The President's reception was held on Monday, June 1 at 8:00 PM in President Maucker's home.
    • A student-faculty picnic was held on Wednesday, June 3 at 5:00 PM on the college golf course.
    • Commencement was held at 9:00 AM on Saturday, June 6.
  • Highlights, Headlines, Firsts, and Honors:
    • Changes in the commencement procedure: Graduates were to face the audience, and no special speeches were to be delivered.
    • 55 degrees and diplomas were awarded in December, 1952.
    • 49 degrees and diplomas were awarded in March, 1953.
    • 431 degrees and diplomas were awarded in June, 1953.
