Honor with Books

Remember and Celebrate People and Events

Honoring with books pays a lasting tribute to special people in your life and conveys your personal commitment to learning and advancing knowledge at the University of Northern Iowa.

In recognition of each $100 gift made to Honor with Books, a Librarian will select a new book for attaching your virtual bookplate. In light of technology advances, a bookplate (as part of our online catalog) has far greater visibility than a physical in-book plate.

For generations to come, each time the book is used, your honoree will be recognized, and your gift will be appreciated.

Gifts to Honor with Books are directed to a special library fund that provides critical support for the acquisition of new books and titles, helping to advance Rod Library's commitment to learning and teaching.

Honor with Books for:

  • Celebrating a birthday
  • Establishing a memorial
  • Commemorating a wedding or anniversary
  • Recognizing a retirement, graduation, or professional achievement

Library Impact

Rod Library receives purchase requests for hundreds of books each year.  While our normal allocations do not allow us to fulfill all of these requests, the Honor With Books program gives us the ability to make strategic purchases for the most requested and useful items.    This flexibility is made possible with Honor With Books!
