“Recreating the Human: Making Hate Our Footstool”

On Tuesday, September 1st at 6:00 pm in the Waterloo Center for the Arts,  Dr. Michael D. Blackwell will be speaking on the socialization and institutionalization of hatred in the United States and discuss creative ways individuals and communities can address categorical prejudices and structural apparatuses that perpetuate the varieties of xenophobia and inequities in our nation. This event will be taking place in conjunction with Speaking Volumes, Transforming Hate, the latest exhibit on display at the Waterloo Center for the Arts, and Rod Library's Latino Americans: 500 Years of History programs.  More information about this series of programming can be found here: https://www.library.uni.edu/diversity
