Enriques's Journey Community Read

As unrest and upheaval grip our world today, the United States has seen an unprecedented surge of unaccompanied minors entering the country unlawfully and alone. Enrique’s Journey: The Story of a Boy’s Dangerous Odyssey to Reunite with His Mother, the award-winning novel by Sonia Nazario, explores one teen’s true story of traveling more than 1,600 miles to reunite with his mother.

Sonia Nazario is an award-winning journalist who tackles some of this country’s most intractable problems – hunger, drug addiction, immigration – and has won some of the most prestigious journalism and book awards. Enrique’s Journey, originally published as a series in the Los Angeles Times, won the Pulitzer Prize for feature writing in 2003.

Join others from across the Cedar Valley in exploring this gripping, thought-provoking novel through a series of community reads. All meetings listed are open to the public.
