Friends of the Museum Rural Schoolhouse Speaker Series

Wednesday, May 17, 2017 - 10:07am - Introducing the Friends of the UNI Museum lecture series. Our inaugural season will be The Rural Schoolhouse Speakers Series. Be transported back to the era of the one room schoolhouse in Iowa. Friends of the UNI Museum Gift Store

Wednesday, May 10, 2017 - 9:00am - The Friends of the UNI Museum Gift Store will be open for business from 9:00 am until 3:30 pm on May 17 on the main/second floor of the UNI Rod Library across from the Reference Desk. Come shop for puppets, jewelry, educational kits, and toys.

Cedar Falls Authors Festival

Thursday, May 4, 2017 - 9:40am - UNI Museum has collaborated with the Cedar Falls Authors Festival Committee to create a display at the Cedar Falls Public Library to kick off a yearlong celebration of Cedar Falls authors. Cedar Falls has produced five nationally-known and best-selling authors; Bess Streeter Aldrich, Ruth Suckow, James Hearst, Nancy Price, and James Waller. With the exception of Aldrich, all taught at the University of Northern Iowa and many were students on the UNI campus. This year a group of interested citizens has organized a year of events to celebrate Cedar Falls’ literary heritage and create awareness of these, and other local writers, works, and publications.
