Wednesday, February 26, 2020 - 4:01pm -   February 27, UNI will be welcoming nearly 1,000 first graders to campus for the 14th annual African American Read-In. The goal of this event is to celebrate African American experiences in literature, with a focus on African American authors and illustrators.    Award-winning children's book author, literacy advocate, publisher, and motivational speaker Ty Allan Jackson will be speaking. Members of UNI Multicultural Teaching Alliance, students from various student organizations and majors, faculty, and staff will be volunteering to provide support to UNI’s African American Read-Ins.
