Banned Books Week 2020: Censorship is a Dead End. Find your Freedom to ReadFriday, September 25, 2020 - 12:51pm - Banned Books Week is an annual event celebrating the freedom to read. Bringing to surface the literary content which has tried to be censored in Libraries and schools. As this is not okay to have books and other works censored, it brings a whole community together to fight for a cause that is worth fighting for. So many people feel so strongly about Banned Books because taking away these types of books decreases the chance of a broader perspective to students all over the world. Banned Books Week is held from September 27 - October 3.

Toward a universal suffrage: African American women in Iowa and the vote for allWednesday, September 9, 2020 - 9:07am - UNI Museum's traveling exhibit has partnered with the Department of Political Science to bring "Toward A Universal Suffrage: African American Women In Iowa And The Vote For All." This exhibition is taking place at the UNI Museum on the bottom floor of Rod Library from Monday, August 31, 2020 - 8:00 am to Thursday, September 17, 2020 - 5:00 pm.
