Surviving Finals Week with Rod Library

Posted 11/17/2020

Students, you have made it to the home stretch! After a very long and unconventional semester, we have finally arrived in the last couple of weeks of the fall semester. From all of us at Rod Library, we are so proud of every one of you. We understand you have had to face many challenges that would not be relevant a year ago. Rod Library wanted to remind you of some helpful tips to succeed this finals season both mentally and academically! While hard at work during this finals season, remember to abide by all the COVID-19 precautions in Rod Library to keep yourself, the employees, and fellow panthers safe!

5 tips to give your brain a break

Get up and stretch!

Your body can be tight and anxious from sitting in one place while studying or hunching over a table trying to solve a problem. Stand up, stretch, relax your body and go back to what you were working on when you feel better.

Take a walk

Getting fresh air and moving your legs will help stimulate your brain and give you a chance to breathe.

Prioritizing BEFORE you study

Make a list of what is most important and what you can save for later. The plan will help organize your thoughts and provide a structured list of all you want to accomplish.

You do not have to be a yoga expert or all things Zen. It can be as simple as lying down and letting your body rest for half an hour.

Give yourself a little gift for working so hard, even if that is facetiming a friend, treating yourself to a coffee, or taking a long drive. You deserve to celebrate your hard work!
