Presentation on Library Space Trends

Sam Demas

Sam Demas, of Sam Demas Collaborative Consulting, will be giving a presentation on "Library Building Design: Trends and Issues" from 4:00-5:30 pm in the Maucker Union University Room on Tuesday October 1.

The University Room is in the lower level of the building.

No RSVP is required. Everyone is invited to attend.  Come hear how libraries are changing to meet higher technological expectations and the evolving needs of today's students.

Student Focus Group Sessions

All UNI students are invited to the Student Focus Group sessions on Tuesday, Oct. 1 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. and Wednesday, Oct. 2 from 4:00-5:00 p.m. in the Library.  The sessions will be held on the main floor behind the Reference Desk (follow the signs!).

The focus group sessions will be a time for students to share your ideas about what Rod Library needs to be in the future to meet your needs.

Come help us design the Library of the future!

Renovation Work to Begin on Third Floor

Today Porter and Porter Construction and their sub-contractors will begin renovating rooms 378, 379, 380 and 381 on the third floor of the Library.  At the end of the project the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning/Liberal Arts Core offices will be located in these spaces.  Look for more information on CETL/LAC in the next few weeks.

New, More Powerful Searching for Articles and More

Rod Library is now offering a new and improved method to find the information you need for your class assignments and research. Just use the "Articles" tab on the library home page to access the new, more powerful version of Panther Prowler.

When you try it out, you should notice right away that the top results are even more relevant to your search than before. This single, quick search finds the best information from almost all of the library's electronic journals and databases, as well as from the library catalog of books, DVDs, CDs, and other physical items.

Congrats to Graduating Rod Library Student Employees

Congratulations to Nicole, Kayla, Evan, Lauren, Jessica, Jackie, Alissa, Alison, Alexandra, Sarah, Brennan, Susanna, and Ashley who are graduating this spring or leaving to student teach!  These individuals have worked at Rod Library for a combined 29.5 years!

The staff and faculty of Rod Library appreciate all their work and their dedication to the UNI community and wish them all the best as they begin the next phase of their lives.
