Rod Library's Digital Scholarship unit partners with faculty, students, and staff to advance research, teaching, and creative expression in the digital age. The Digital Scholarship unit manages content, infrastructure, and user interfaces for all stages of the research lifecycle, including research planning, execution, dissemination, discovery, preservation, and impact. We showcase the intellectual vitality of the University by managing Northern Iowa's institutional repository and digital collections, digitizing materials, assisting in planning and implementing scholarly digital projects, and providing support for the scholarly communication. We accept a broad range of content from the Northern Iowa community.
The Digital Scholarship unit coordinates UNI ScholarWorks, UNI's institutional repository. The purpose of UNI ScholarWorks is to collect, preserve, and make available the research and creative and scholarly output from the Universe of Northern Iowa (UNI) community. Our goal is to showcase the knowledge, creativity, and innovative spirit of UNI.
Iowa Research Commons
The Iowa Research Commons is a collaborative project between the three Iowa Regents institutions. The portal is a shared repository of the three Iowa public universities, University of Iowa, Iowa State University and University of Northern Iowa. Visitors to the site can search the contents of all three institutions at the same time by using the search box. Content gathered to collections on the site highlight theses/dissertations, undergraduate research, and journals of Iowa’s three public universities.
The Digital Scholarship unit is located on the first floor of Rod Library in LIB 125. Due to the COVID-19 situation, the Digital Scholarship office may be staffed sporadically. Questions can be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
