DCDS Scanning Lab

What We Do

The Digital Scholarship Unit coordinates the use of flatbed scanners located in the Distinctive Collections & Digital Strategies (DCDS) Scanning Lab. The lab is open by appointment to UNI faculty, staff, students, nonprofit community organizations, and community members. Digital Scholarship staff provide one-on-one consultation with these appointments to explain scanner settings and software.

Guidelines

The DCDS Scanning Lab, located in room 129 on the 1st floor of the library, is used for high-quality digitization of physical materials - bound or unbound paper, film strips, slides, etc. The lab is open by appointment to UNI faculty, staff, students, nonprofit community organizations, and community members. The DCDS Scanning Lab is not intended for general computer use or group work.

Library faculty, staff, and student workers will have priority access to this room and are not subject to these restrictions.
