Mission

Our mission is to demonstrate student and faculty/staff success by increasing the utility and impact of research, scholarship, and creative output produced at the University of Northern Iowa by creating, adapting, implementing, supporting, and sustaining innovative digital tools and publishing platforms for content delivery, discovery, analysis, and preservation. In pursuit of that mission, we also engage in extensive outreach, education, and advocacy to ensure that the scholarly and creative output has a global reach.

The Digital Scholarship Unit is integral to achieving world-class research and creative work at the University of Northern Iowa. We serve as the cornerstone of technological innovation, exploration, and collaboration at Rod Library for the University community and its affiliates. We adapt and implement technologies that contribute to the evolution of the educational and scholarly landscape.
