Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to provide guidelines on who and how to gain permission to place collection boxes and/or other charitable causes solicitation within the facilities governed by the Rod Library.
Scope
This policy applies to any person or group wanting to place a collection box and/or other charitable causes solicitation at Rod Library or within the TEACH Studio.
Definitions

Policy
Policy Statement
Recognized student groups or academic departments/classes may request permission to place a collection box or charitable receptacle within Rod Library or the TEACH Studio. The library will give permission if they are able to accommodate the request based on space, university mission alignment, and at the discretion of the Rod Library.
Guidelines
- One organization/collection box will be allowed at each location at a time.
- Display is allowed up to two weeks at a time and must be picked up promptly at the end of the scheduled time. If donated items are not picked up on the agreed upon date, and other arrangements have not been made, they will be donated to a local charity.
- Collections or charitable causes can only be for goods that fit in the box provided by the requesting organization (such as food, clothing, personal hygiene or small household items).
- The collection of monetary donations in these boxes is prohibited.
- The organization is responsible for maintaining the collection containers.
- The Rod Library will not be held responsible for stolen, damaged, and/or lost property.
- University staff may move containers for cleaning and maintenance purposes.
A request must be submitted two weeks before the beginning of the collection drive.
