Rod Library Art Collection Policy

Mission

The art collection serves as a resource to document and exhibit UNI student artwork and Iowa artists, both past and present, and collect original pieces in order to exhibit them on the campus and support ongoing research, innovative exhibits, and diverse collections.

Collection Scope

Donated and purchased collections must be authentic original works created by either Iowa artists or UNI Students, both past and present. Under no situation will unoriginal replicas or copies be accepted. Objects without established provenance will not be accepted. 

Collection Policy

The care, management, acquisition, deaccessioning, and disposal of art in the Rod Library Art Collection falls under the (link is external)Museum’s Collection Management Policy established by the UNI Museum as it is part of the overall collection.
